There are four main differences between normalizing and annealing:
1) The temperature of normalizing is higher, and the temperature of annealing is lower.
2) The cooling rate of normalizing is faster than that of annealing, and normalizing is generally naturally cooled in air.
3) The use effect is different, after carburizing treatment, normalizing can eliminate the reticulated cementite, but annealing cannot. For steel with a carbon content of less than 0.25%, the hardness can be increased and the cutting performance can be improved after normalization, but annealing cannot do so.
4) The normalizing cycle is short and the operation is convenient; The annealing cycle is long and the operation is more troublesome (meaning that a certain cooling rate needs to be controlled, and the cooling process is longer).
